pyflwdir.gis_utils.reggrid_area(lats: ndarray, lons: ndarray) → ndarray

Return cell areas [m2] for a regular geographic grid.

Parameters:

• lats (1D arrays of float) – Latitude and longitude coordinates at cell centers, in degrees.

• lons (1D arrays of float) – Latitude and longitude coordinates at cell centers, in degrees.

Returns:

Cell areas, with shape (len(lats), len(lons)).

Return type:

2D array of float
