pyflwdir.FlwdirRaster.floodplains#

FlwdirRaster.floodplains(elevtn, uparea=None, upa_min=1000, b=0.3)[source]#

Returns floodplain boundaries based on a maximum treshold (h) of HAND which is scaled with upstream area (A) following h ~ A**b.

Parameters:
  • elevtn (2D array of float) – elevation raster [m]

  • uparea (2D array of float, optional) – upstream area raster [km2], by default calculated on the fly

  • b (float, optional) – scale parameter, by default 0.3

  • upa_min (float, optional) – minimum upstream area threshold for streams [km2].

Returns:

floodplain

Return type:
